A&W, America’s first franchised restaurant chain, has signed agreements for nine new U.S. franchise restaurants–five of which will open in the greater Las Vegas area including Henderson. Leading the A&W expansion in Las Vegas are real estate developers Mike Swecker and Alan Perlmutter.
“Both new and current franchisees recognize A&W offers a unique opportunity,” said CEO Kevin Bazner. “A&W is amazingly popular with consumers, and the concept is extremely well suited to conversions and c-stores, which make getting a location up and running faster and more cost-effective.”
Since its inception in 1923, the iconic root beer and burger chain has expanded to more than 900 locations across the U.S. and Asia. A&W offers a bevy of American classics including hamburgers, hot dogs, shakes, french fries, and onion rings. The American chain is also renowned for its root beer which is made fresh and served in signature frosty mugs.
Locations and expected opening dates have yet to be announced. However, each A&W restaurant will be single-brand locations that feature drive-thrus.
