An expansion to Fremont St’s The D Casino & Hotel, which will include a renovated second-level casino floor, will bring with it a new, dangerously delicious concept. Bacon Nation, a project from Downtown Hospitality Group, will offer a selection of bacon-centered dishes twenty-four hours a day at the hotel.

“Developed with Chef Josh Green, the menu will be a true bacon celebration,” reads a press release. “This will range from sandwiches where weaved bacon will take the place of bread; bacon ‘flights,’ where guests can sample a variety of flavors; and over-the-top boozy milkshakes. Green is known for his work at beloved local eateries Skinny Fats and Greens & Proteins, as well as at Las Vegas restaurants from Chef Daniel Boulud and Chef Charlie Palmer.”

Some buzz is stirring up over the brand’s “Reverse BLT,” which has bread on the inside and a weave of bacon outside.

Bacon Nation will open on the hotel’s second floor, in the space formerly occupied by The D Grill, which closed during the pandemic. The hotel’s second floor renovation will also include a doubling in size for BarCanada, the hotel’s sports bar.

Featuring an open kitchen, Bacon Nation will seat 120, featuring an exciting art collection and a 24-seat private dining space.

Bacon Nation is expected to open at The D this fall, although no hard opening date has yet been set.
