California-Based Boba Tea Chain Teaspoon to Open First Location off the Coast at UnCommons

Teaspoon will be one of 20 chef-driven concepts in the food hall at UnCommons, the first of its kind in Las Vegas

The highly-anticipated mixed-use development UnCommons will welcome Teaspoon, a West Coast boba tea chain, to Las Vegas when it opens in early 2022.

The boba chain is famous for specialty drinks like Creamy Jasmine; the Ladybug, made with jade green tea and kumquat juice; and the Liquid Gold, made with oolong tea topped with cream. The menu also features familiar favorites like Taro milk tea and Thai tea.

Franchise owner Xavian Hood talked to What Now Las Vegas on the phone Monday afternoon about the chain and its unique location at UnCommons.

“It’s going to be a great fit,” Hood said. “It’s not your mom-and-pop boba spot. The quality and uniqueness of it is what drew my eye to it. With the upscaleness of UnCommons it’s going to fit very well.”

The location was secured with the representation of commercial project advisor Suzanne Eitelberg. At UnCommons, Teaspoon will be one of 20 chef-driven concepts in a food hall that is the first of its kind in Las Vegas.

In addition to restaurant space, the development will be home to more than 500,000 square feet of office space, and more than 830 residential units.

“We’re really looking forward to bringing a quality drink to the Vegas community,” Hood added, “being able to be out there, to sponsor sports, and to be that place where people can come and enjoy a good tea.”
