The White Cross Market building — formerly home to Vickie’s Diner which plans on reopening this year in Commercial Center on Sahara Avenue — will get a makeover alongside new construction at the site.

Los Angeles investor Jonathan Kermani acquired the property in September for $4.3 million with plans to build 1700 Vegas in its place.

Planning, permitting, and preleasing are expected now through May 2021, according to newly-minted marketing materials for the project. Construction could get underway as early as April with many tenants taking possession of their spaces in early 2022 and opening by April of that year.

“1700 Vegas has been crafted to feel open & airy with an eye to your customer’s cravings for indoor/outdoor activation,” the marketing materials state. “Soaring windows, garage and hangar doors, breezeways, landscaped courtyard, and shaded patios with cantilevered overhangs deliver a new building built to a standard that puts tenants first.”

1700 Vegas could see as many as 15 restaurant tenants paying rents around $3.25 to $4.50 per square foot per month plus NNN (triple net lease.)
