Founded Downtown in 2014 by UNLV alumnus and restaurateur Josh Molina, local coffee shop Makers & Finders has since grown to include another brick and mortar in Summerlin, pop-ups, catering services, and special events. It is based, says its mission statement, on “3 pillars. Coffee, Latin Food & Culture.”

As Makers & Finders grows as part of the community, it has placed more emphasis special events and live music. In paperwork recently submitted to the Las Vegas Planning Commission for a Tavern license, Molina named these considerations, along with concomitant renovations to the Downtown location’s patio and sound system, as reasons for the change. If approved, the license would allow guests to purchase alcohol without food, a system more conducive to standing events, shows, etc.

Meanwhile Makers & Finders continues to serve its proven menu of Latin Comfort Food. It offers brunch favorites like the Empanada Flight and Churro Waffle, along with omelets, benedicts, and skillets that include Steak & Eggs and Latin Hash (Braised Angus Beef, House Potatoes, Roasted Peppers, Caramelized Onions, Over Easy Egg).

The coffee-shop-meets-restaurant-meets-venue also offers a dinner menu featuring Ceviche, a variety of empanadas, and entrees like Bandeja Paisa (12 oz New York Strip Steak, Crispy Pork Belly, Caramelized Maduros, Sunny Side Egg, Spanish Rice, Black Beans, Avocado, Chimichurri) and Atollado Colombiano (Crispy Pork Belly, NY Steak, Shrimp, Cilantro Jalapeño Broth, Fried Rice, Sweety Drop Peppers, Harissa Drizzle, Sunny Side Up Egg).

What Now Las Vegas reached out to Josh Molina on Monday. Molina could not be reached for comment.
