What Now Las Vegas reached out to owner Jenny Chai on Monday. Chai confirmed the news of the tea shop’s opening but said many of the details related to the brand’s menu and opening are still being worked out.

Details are therefore scarce regarding the menu, which will consist of specialty boba drinks, mochi donuts, and specialty cream puffs. The location is currently under construction, and no firm opening date has been established, Chai said. By her estimate, the restaurant may be ready to open in August.

The location is on the busy stretch of Spring Mountain Rd between Arville St and S Wynn Rd, part of Shanghai Plaza, a sizable shopping center that is home to a number of tasty dining spots, including H.K. Seafood Garden, Shinjuku Ramen, and Orchid Vietnamese. Mama Chai’s will open in the space formerly occupied by Tea of Joy. Stay tuned for updates as details emerge about this new local business.
