Hailed by the Critics Choice Award as the “smoothest stuff around,” Nielsen’s Frozen Custard has begun to expand from its location on Eastern Avenue, where it has been serving its frozen custard for thirty years. As What Now reported back in July, Nielsen’s is soon to open a location Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa.

That location is still in the pipeline, with an opening expected in February. In the meantime, however, there’s still more news: Nielsen’s Frozen Custard will also be opening a new outpost in the food court at Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino.

“We’re excited,” owner Howard Zayon told What Now on Friday. “My wife and I have lived in the Summerlin area for about twenty years, so we’re excited to be able to open in our own neighborhood and serve our own community.”

A “very thick shake you eat with a spoon,” Nielsen’s Frozen Custard Concrete comes in classic flavors like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, plus a whole variety of others, including Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and Heath Toffee. They are customizable with toppings like nuts, including almonds, cashews, peanuts, pistachios, and more.

Nielsen’s is expected to open at Santa Fe Station in March 2023, Zayon said.
