Located at 3449 South Sammy Davis Jr. Drive, former home of the historic Sonny’s Saloon, the lounge is the latest endeavor of Eduardo Cordova, owner of The Garden Las Vegas in the Arts District. The entertainment lineup includes a number of Broadway and Vegas performers, such as Josh Strickland of Disney’s “Tarzan on Broadway” and actress and singer Ruby Lewis, known in Vegas for her work in “Marilyn the Musical” and “Baz”. The singers will be accompanied by a rotating roster of pianists, all performing on the lounge’s signature red piano.

The interior of the lounge was designed with old-school glamour in mind, but the details go beyond its chandelier and velvet banquette. Hidden features meant to be discovered by guests are sprinkled throughout the venue, like an homage to the late Vegas entertainment journalist Robin Leach and bar stools emblazoned with gold name plates bearing the names of Vegas stars.

In addition to its own champagne cocktails — like “Down the Rabbit Hole,” a blend of GH Mumm, Rabbit Hole Cavehill, mint sprigs, bitters and a dash of Absinthe — Star will serve a full wine, beer and cocktail menu. It will be open nightly starting at 4 P.M.
