What Now Las Vegas spoke with owner Sean Dowdell on the phone on Thursday. Dowdell described the bar as a partnership between himself, his wife fellow entrepreneur Thora Dowdell, Mario Barth of Starlight Tattoo, and Enrique Abeyta of Inked Magazine and Revolver Magazine.

The restaurant will be based around a walk-up-style bar, where tattoo-savvy mixologists will serve guests a selection of wines, spirits, and cocktails in a sleek, energetic atmosphere. It will include visual aspects designed by Hypervision, based around a 3-D display.

“It’s hard to explain without the visual,” Dowdell said. “Picture a tattoed arm coming out of the display and pouring a drink.”

Citing a figure that 52% of Americans have at least one tattoo, Dowdell explained the bar’s relation to its customer base. “The whole idea is to complement that tattooed lifestyle,” he said.

Dowdell also spoke of his familiarity with Miracle Miles Shops and the roots he has put down there. He has been operating Club Tattoo there for twelve years, and has three businesses already in the market.

“It’s a great mall,” he said. “And this is a great collaborative brand.”

The location at Miracle Mile Shops is working toward an October 20 opening, Dowdell said, with further locations expected to open sometime in the future.
