An announcement of the opening date of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is “forthcoming,” according to a recent Twitter statement from JC Hospitality CEO Richard Bosworth. JC is the hotel’s owner. The location’s website still declares that the hotel will open its doors in “early 2021,” and a debut was originally on the books for January 15.

“Due to the continuously evolving COVID-19 situation not only in Nevada but nationwide we have made the decision to delay the Jan. 15, 2021 opening of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas,” Bosworth said. “The construction of the project is on time and this decision was predicated on the current conditions of in the market as it pertains to the pandemic.”
The new hotel and casino will take the place of the former Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on 4455 Paradise Rd, which permanently closed its doors in February 2020. The massive hotel will contain over 1,500 rooms across three towers. The property amenities include a pool, spa, fitness room, and poolside day club.
There will be an assortment of dining and drinking options, including the popular After’s Ice Cream, Nobu and Todd English’s Olives, which returns to Las Vegas after shutting down its Bellagio location in 2018.
Virgin Hotels has partnered with Mohegan Sun to open the Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, a 60,000 square-foot gaming area featuring 650 slot machines and over 50 card tables. Betfred USA is set to open its fourth Sportsbook in the United States with its space that will occupy the Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas location is the first of three Virgin Hotels scheduled to open this year, with New Orleans scheduled for the Summer and a New York City hotel planned for the Fall.
