West Side Oasis is set to open their bar area for a soft opening in mid-February and roll out their full dining services later on.

This is the first Las Vegas restaurant venture of owners Terry Adams, Hiroe Adams and Syanne Sasekhi, who hope to embrace the location’s legacy while also elevating the menu. Sasekhi spoke with What Now Las Vegas about their plans.

West Side Oasis will have an Art Deco atmosphere with “modern and classic feelings combined,” Sasekhi described.

This blending of new and old points to the property’s history, and what is to come.

“I know there was some concern in the community about what was going to happen with this space, and we want to make sure that people know we want to carry out the tradition that Seven Seas started,” Sasekhi said.

Seven Seas patrons can anticipate Southern comfort food classics like fried chicken and catfish, but with a West Side Oasis twist. Sasekhi explained that the menu will also be inspired by comfort food from Hawaii and Japan.

“We think that a Southern/Asian fusion will follow the tradition while also expanding it,” Sasekhi said. “We want to be a part of the community, and we also want to grow with the community.”

The rendering shown above is a proposed image that West Side Oasis is still working towards. Sasekhi explained that, while the restaurant won’t look exactly like the rendering, they still have similar renovations planned.

My first visit to WSO was with some friends from out of town. We were greeted by a very aggressive security guard who acts like a gang banger. I’m 70 years old and a black man. He hand searched us, but not the lady that was with us. The second visit, the same guard, put his hands on me while searching me. In a respectful manner, I suggested maybe he could use a wand instead of hand searching. He became very angry and told me if I didn’t like it then don’t come in and he would detain me. The owner was unaware of this so I asked to speak to him. An employee wanted to know why I wanted to talk to the owner. The owner NEVER came to rectify my concerns. If this guard don’t shoot or start a fight by summer, I will be surprised!

Mr Oscar, I hear you. I’m sure you don’t want to be greeted by a person like some of us by some of the dirty police. I hope the reason is to keep us all safe from haters, which can be a problem sometimes. My friends and I go there often, owners have been quite nice and respective. I’m happy that someone is opening up nice business in the neighborhood so we can have nice places to go to like other parts of Las Vegas. I hope everything turn out fine for this new WSO. SO , give them a chance, dress up and have fun. I had not dressed up for 5 years, when I did I felt like I was somebody which I always knew but, just being able after 5 years of not getting out of my house made me feel so good and I stood tall, feeling good. Try it my friend, that shake down was to protect you as well as your friends and the friends, especially from officials that may be casing the neigh hood,, I’m sure you re aware of whom I’m speaking of that never leave us alone .PEACE MY FRIEND.I hear you, you people that are shaking people down, Respect us, and unlike the police think, all of us are not bad, even if we have had a previous undesirable background. Just like you at the door, how is your background, Thank you for being on top of it, but respect us, unless we get roudy at the door, then, those need to be refused to enter for all of our safety. Thank you WSO CLUB for trying to upgade our neighhood. we all appreciate it.

How can you not like this up grade to our community?? How!?? I use to party til the wee hours of the morning at the 7 Seas and the music was always jumpin. The New WSO is a 360 change from the 7 Seas but for the better. Now I have a reason to dig in my closet and put on my nice cloths and feel good and sexy. The 7 Seas was very very street casual and you didn’t’ have to put in much efforts to dress. I love the vibe of the WSO, the drinks are still good and the music as well. I implore the neighborhood family to come on out and enjoy the new venue. I would say the vibe there is for the 25 and older, grown, MATURE, and sexy. See you there!!!
