The Downtown location will open in the space currently occupied MTO Cafe, at 500 South Main Street. The space is expected to seat about 120 people, Hung told What Now on Thursday, with the most major renovations involving an expansion of the kitchen.

The new location will serve up the same breakfast and lunch classics that have made BabyStacks’ other locations so popular—the classic pancakes, omelets, skillets, benedicts, and more. And there’s one big change from the other locations.

“This location will be the only BabyStacks with beer and wine,” said Hung.

MTO, which is still open, is expected to close for about eight weeks before reopening as BabyStacks in early 2024, says recent coverage by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The new location will be located across the street from City Hall.

How does it feel to be reaching store number eight? What Now asked the restaurateur.

“I just want to make sure my staff and the community know how much I appreciate their support all these years we’ve been open,” Hung said. “It feels so surreal. I just want to thank them from the bottom of my heart.”

Be sure to head in to one of BabyStacks Cafe’s seven locations, and follow @babystackscafe on Instagram to keep up with the Downtown opening and other BabyStacks news.
