“Ever since the beginning of our relationship, we’ve always dreamed about opening a coffee shop together,” Lutz told What Now Las Vegas on Friday.

Now, the dream is about to come to fruition. This coming Spring, the pair will open up their first-ever cafe at 201 E Charleston Blvd., inspired by and designed for community building.

Bungalow Coffee Co. honors every step of coffee production, from finding ethically-sourced beans to providing a peaceful and welcoming environment for coffee consumption.

“Beyond the love of the beans, and knowing how important ethically-sourced coffee means for farms and families, we’re also so passionate about coffee because of what it means for a community, and how it can really bring people together,” Lutz said.

The upcoming coffee shop is inspired by Lutz’s business The Social Bungalow, a service that connects online-based business owners with one another, and helps to structure their businesses for success in the digital marketplace.

“To us, the word bungalow represents a welcoming little home,” Lutz said. “Imagine you’re walking through a jungle and come upon this house where everyone is inside, talking and connecting. And before it was a physical space, it was a digital space — some people even call our Facebook group a bungalow.”

Once open, the coffee shop will finally bring the “bungalow” into the physical realm, offering 2,500 square feet of coworking and community-centered space. Bungalow Coffee Co. will be arranged in different segments that Lutz describes as “rooms without walls.” Customers will be free to drink their coffee in the area of their choosing, like the “living room” or the “banquette” space, the owners said.

In addition to the first-floor cafe, Bungalow Coffee Co. has also secured the third-floor level, which will be used for additional community space.

“Being so centrally located in the city and in the Arts District, in addition to having a lot of space, there’s the vision that people can gather from different parts of the city to meet there and enjoy a cup of coffee and work together,” Matson said.

As for the menu, other “coffee fiends” can anticipate specialty classics like macchiatos and cortados, as well as an extensive pour-over selection. While they have yet to make any public announcements about brand partnerships, Lutz and Matson also plan on offering loose leaf tea, gourmet toasts, and vegan pastries.

In line with their community-minded business model, Bungalow Coffee Co. also plans to donate to a different cause at the end of each quarter.
