Could it be the new home of La Comida?

What Now reported in October 2022 on Corner Bar Management’s purchase of the building at 100 S Sixth St., the former home of the Morton Group’s La Comida, which would be replaced by Corner Bar’s La Mona Rosa concept (which has since launched successfully). Coverage published in the Las Vegas Review-Journal said there were discussions about reopening La Comida at “an unnamed Vegas resort hotel.”

Well, even if we don’t know exactly where, La Comida’s website does indeed declare a “NEW LOCATION COMING SOON!”

Meanwhile, building permit paperwork was submitted to Clark County for a “Morton Restaurant @ Cactus”: a $1.5 million contract valuation for work at 4390 W Cactus Avenue. It’s not a resort hotel, but could this be La Comida’s new home?

It could be. Or it could be another project entirely—which would, of course, mean two restaurants in the pipeline from Morton Group, the company from hospitality power couple Michael and Jenna Morton, rather than just one.

What Now reached out to Jenna Morton on Thursday to inquire about plans for the restaurant opening on Cactus Avenue. Morton was not immediately available for comment.
