Chef and owner Johnny Chang confirmed the news in a Monday afternoon phone call with What Now Las Vegas. Chang said the new outpost—the first in Las Vegas for the up-and-coming Taiwanese cuisine and bar chain, which has been operating in California for six years—is still in the licensing process, with a necessarily uncertain opening date.

Dragon Gate serves an expansive menu. It opens with Hand Made Dumplings in varieties like Chives & Pork and Chinese Cabbage & Chicken. Salads, appetizers, and cold dishes include the Ocean Salad (with fresh seaweed), Thousand Years Egg Tofu, Edamame, and Five Spice Braised Beef Tendon Slices.

From there, we move on to iron-pot, grilled, and stir-fried dishes like Three Cup Chicken, Street Style Grilled Pork Sausage, and Stir Fried Lamb with Basil. Other Street Style sauteed dishes include Sha Cha Lamb (sauteed lamb with water celery in Sha Cha Sauce), Oysters Tofu (sauteed fresh oysters and tofu with Black Bean Sauce), and Taichung Harbor Style Garlic Shrimp.

Even this only scratches the surface of the restaurant’s considerable menu, described by the chef as “90% Taiwanese street food, 10% American Chinese food.” It also features bento boxes, a selection of crispy deep fried dishes, a range of hot and cold beverages, and more.

The location at 3400 S Jones Blvd #5b is in a cluster of eateries and retail shops between Desert Inn Rd and Spring Mountain Rd, including Hachi – Japanese Yakitori Izakaya, Chubby Cattle, and Fukuburger.
