Grand Bazaar Shops Look to Be Getting a Fat Tuesday

Born on Bourbon St, the New Orleans-based bar chain is growing throughout the US

Born in 1983 and made famous for its frozen drinks, New Orleans bar concept Fat Tuesday appears to be making further headway in Las Vegas. Grand Bazaar Shops recently filed paperwork with Clark County for a project entitled “Fat Tuesday,” estimating a construction budget of $340,000.

The Fat Tuesday brand has been pushing to grow its footprint in the last few years. It had made an abortive attempt to do so in the 1990’s, but signs point to more sticking power this time around.

The brand is flexible, with room for variety in its locations and their layouts. Some Fat Tuesday bars include a kitchen and restaurant, along with a spacious seating area, while some others serve drinks only in spaces with fairly low square footage.

Located on the southeast corner of the intersection between Flamingo Rd and Las Vegas Blvd and adjacent to Bally’s Las Vegas, Grand Bazaar Shops is home to a range of shopping and dining locations. Hungry guests may enjoy food from eateries like Wahlburgers, Ramen-Ya, and Dirt Dog.

What Now Las Vegas reached out to Fat Tuesday CEO James Vitrano on Wednesday morning. Vitrano was unavailable to comment on the project.
