What Now Las Vegas reached out by phone on Friday morning to owner Joni Kilenton. Kilenton confirmed the news of the restaurant’s opening but declined to comment further on details pertaining to Tigray’s branding, menu, and operating hours.

Tigray is a region in Ethiopia known for cuisine with a strong emphasis on vegetables, with meat dishes that are often quite spicy and served in the form of a thick stew served over injera, Ethiopian cuisine’s famous sourdough flatbread. The finer details of the eponymous restaurant’s menu remain unknown at this time but can be expected to fit this proven, delicious pattern. Adult beverages will be offered alongside food.

The building on Arville St is part of a small retail center south of Tropicana. Shops like Amy’s Discount Garage and We Print Vegas are located nearby, as well as Arif Hookah Lounge.

No opening date has been announced for Tigray Bar and Restaurant.
