The Vegas Vic-themed location, which may be called “Vic’s,” will serve upscale Italian food accompanied by live jazz performances in what is currently the first floor of a public parking garage across the street from the Discovery Children’s Museum on Promenade Place. In addition to a spacious dining room and stage, the space will include outdoor patio dining, an outdoor cigar smoking area, and a private dining room that will accommodate fourteen people with a view of the stage.

“Music is a thing for us. We do jazz: straight jazz,” Owner Chris Lowden, of Stoney’s Rockin’ Country fame, told What Now Las Vegas in a telephone conversation Monday. “The food will be phenomenal, and the jazz will be phenomenal. Higher-end, but also not strip pricing.”

Lowden added that, along with his family’s connections to the jazz world, the restaurant’s slot machines would help ensure consistently exceptional musical performances. “If you’re a restaurant, and you want to put on great jazz performances, that can be hard to do. This makes everything possible.”

The location will represent a partnership between two experienced Las Vegas restaurateurs, with Mark DiMartino (past owner of Tillerman Restaurant and DiMartino’s Italian Eatery) serving as general manager and executive chef. It will also work in partnership with local institutions. Lowden remarked on the space’s proximity to the Smith Center for the Performing Arts, which may work with the restaurant on music programming.

Also nearby is Las Vegas Academy, an arts high school whose senior jazz program will receive job opportunities in partnership with the restaurant.
