Area15, the art and entertainment district located not far from the Las Vegas Strip, is getting ready to launch a new sushi concept. Kaia Handroll will open at 3215 S Rancho Drive, according to permitting paperwork found earlier this year by What Now and recently confirmed by coverage in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The RJ coverage says the new sushi spot will feature countertop seating, décor characterized by “AI-generated images of women who slay,” and a menu featuring “sashimi, starters like a Japanese Caesar salad with a furikake-Parmesan crisp, several styles of dessert mochi, teas and sake, Japanese beer and whisky, plus to-go chirashi bowls with rice, fish and vegetables.”

Area15 current food and drink roster includes The Beast, from four-time James Beard Award-winning chef Todd English; Lumin Cafe & Kitchen, from Elizabeth Blau; and Sanctuary Lounge.

What Now reached out on Friday to Area15 Chief Operating Officer Dan Pelson to inquire about the Kaia rollout. Pelson was not immediately available for comment.
