The Plaza Hotel’s entryway is in a process of transition. In addition to the new Pinkbox Doughnuts, which will be a striking visual aspect of the front of the building with its large 3-D doughnut, the Plaza is also developing a carousel-themed outdoor bar.

Carousel Bar will be located under the hotel’s porte cochere, with visual aspects Eater Las Vegas reports will entail “animated elements like carousel horses that swing up and down, martini glasses that spin, and larger-than-life dice.” Guests will be able to enjoy a drink with a view of Downtown’s Fremont Street Experience, located opposite the hotel.

“We’ve always believed that Main Street is the best street in downtown Las Vegas,” the Eater Vegas article quotes Plaza Hotel & Casino CEO Jonathan Jossel as saying. “And the Plaza has the frontage on Main Street. And with all the wonderful developments, it allowed us to reinvest in the Plaza and do things that attract new people who give great offerings, while still retaining the history and the classic elements of the Plaza.”

The bar will occupy 2,500 square feet of space, with capacious seating for nearly 100 guests.

And Carousel Bar and Pinkbox Doughnuts aren’t the only changes afoot at the Plaza: Oscar’s Steakhouse is in the process of getting a new patio dining area, and the hotel is also working on a new non-smoking gaming area.

All these projects are expecting completion before the end of 2022.
