“It’s going to be mainly a surf and turf menu,” the chef told What Now on Thursday. “With the Mexican flare,” she added.

Mitchell’s Leticia’s Cocina and Cantina has been operating since 2008, “providing a Fresh and Authentic Mexican Cuisine for the real flavors of Mexico.” It offers a diverse range of choices, including featured dishes like Molcajete del Mar (Tiger prawn shrimp, lobster tail, clams, mussels, grilled fish, octopus and grilled nopales sizzling in a seafood sauce in a hot molcajete with poblano white rice casserole) and taco varieties like Leticia’s Award-Winning QuesaTacos.

Mitchell says Carmelita’s Mar y Tierra will be a completely independent concept from Leticia’s Cocina and her other project, Letty’s on Main. It will be serving the area “off of the Art District and the Latin Eastside community as well.”

Stay tuned for more as the details surrounding Carmelita’s Mar y Tierra become available.
