Plus several restaurants and a Morris & Co. store

After a journey of more than fifteen years, Fontainebleau Resort & Casino is one of several major openings (probably the most major) expected for Las Vegas in 2023. It’s been a long journey involving several changes of hands and even a name change (remember when it was going to be called The Drew?), but now the opening of the 67-story hotel, gaming, entertainment, and meeting destination is, if not quite in view, then at least coming into view.

So what do we know about it thus far? What Now has reported on two restaurant concepts—Mezcal and La Côte—that are expected to open at the resort. Further info may have been revealed through work permit paperwork submitted in recent months.

On the restaurant side, two restaurant project permits have since been submitted, one with a contract valuation listed at $4,280,652 and another listed at $6,000,100. Another recent permit application gives a $2,178,000 valuation for an outpost Morris & Co., a furnishings and decorative arts manufacturer and retailer.

Perhaps most excitingly, submitted permit paperwork for a “Race and Sports Book” listed a price tag of $9,840,255. What Now reached out this week to representatives of Fontainebleau Las Vegas, but no representative was immediately available for comment on the Sportsbook project. As a result, no information is currently forthcoming. But with a number like that, it’s bound to be exciting.

As we go into the New Year, we hope to see some more details on these projects, and maybe some pictures!
