Behind the restaurant is Sapporo Group Management, Inc., headed up by local restaurateur Freddy Hwang. Sapporo Group operates a number of successful restaurant concepts, including Sapporo Revolving Sushi, Master Kim’s Korean BBQ, and Kobashi Ramen & Curry.

Sapporo is also behind the upcoming Industry 13 Karaoke & Bar, opening this summer at 5599 Spring Mountain Rd, featuring fourteen small-to-large karaoke rooms and a full service bar/lounge area with a karaoke stage.

The menu for Industry 13 Korean Tapas & Bistro is still under development but its food offerings will feature some similarities to Industry 13 Karaoke’s. The karaoke spot’s menu will include dishes like Shishito Peppers with garlic, peanuts, and a sweet and spicy glaze; Fish Cake Soup with skewered fish cakes, lobster balls, and umami broth; and Crispy Pork Belly with lemongrass-garlic, doenjang vinaigrette, and chili-onion ponzu. The tapas restaurant will also offer Korean fried chicken.

The two Industry 13 locations will share similarly themed interiors, featuring a modern, sleek, industrial look. The tapas restaurant will also boast a 20+-foot bar.

Industry 13 Korean Tapas & Bistro is projected to open in four to five months, a representative told What Now on Wednesday. Its karaoke-bar sister can be expected is closer to opening, with about two months to go.
