“We’re scouting locations right now,” Sasi Phothidokmai, who helps run Weera Thai along with her husband and Owner Prachatouch Thongusthaisiri, told What Now Las Vegas Tuesday. “We want to spread out throughout Las Vegas.”
Already with spots in Sahara and Chinatown, Weera Thai offers Thai street food where traditional meets international, east meets west, and recipes come from far and wide.
Weera Thai-Issan Cuisine was established in 1978 in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where it was known for its Larb Duck.
It arrived in Las Vegas in 2010 where it has won numerous awards over the years as the best Thai, Chinese, and takeout food in town.
“Our first restaurant will still be our biggest space,” Phothidokmai explained.
She said they planned a third location before the pandemic so to get to this point is certainly a relief. She hopes to open in May.
“We want to bring customers to our restaurant from the southwest and have access to more customers throughout the city,” Phothidokmai explained.
The restaurant will be moving into a nearly 3,000 square foot space at the Commons at Warm Springs retail center, at 6955 West Warm Springs Road.
