“This Stoney’s is a little bit more contemporary,” Chris Lowden of Porchlight Hospitality Group told What Now on Thursday. “It’s all about the dancing, with a lot of games and a lot more TV’s.”

In addition to the usual beer and shots you can expect from Stoney’s Rockin’ Country, Stoney’s North Forty will serve up a bigger selection of mixed drinks, Lowden says, which reflects the brand’s move into a somewhat different market.

“It’s not as rustic as the other facility,” Lowden said, “It’s a little hipper in design.”

The new Stoney’s will occupy about 13,000 square feet, about 2,500 of which Lowden says are taken up by a considerable patio, which is complete with a retractable roof for inclement weather, along with a fireplace, fire pits, beer pong, and other features. In all, the capacity of the Stoney’s location is around 700.

Stoney’s North Forty is working toward an opening in July.
