Owned locally by Nick Della Penna and Trent Jones, the Great Greek Mediterranean Grill has grown all over the country, boasting franchise locations in states as far-flung as Colorado, Florida, and New Jersey. And in addition to a new location planned for Centennial Hills, recently submitted permitting paperwork shows the Great Greek is moving forward with a location at The Bend.

“The Bend will be the largest dining, entertainment, and shopping destination in the Southwest area of the Valley,” said the Bend’s website. “Since it was announced, The Bend has signed Electric Pickle, a three-acre, 10,000 SF pickleball complex, in addition to many dining establishments, including St. Felix, Sola Salon, Freed’s Dessert Shop, The Great Greek, Aces & Ales Brewery and many more.”
The submitted paperwork is for a tenant improvement in Unit G-110 at 8730 W Sunset Road to the tune of $350,000. Next door, in unit G-100, Dinette—one of the winners of the Great Las Vegas Coffee Shop Giveaway, and another project from Della Penna—is currently preparing for an opening.
Another Great Greek location means more of popular entrees like Grilled Chicken Souvlaki, Australian Lamb Souvlaki, the Gyro Plate, and the Falafel Plate; appetizers like Tirokafteri (Creamy Greek Feta with Spicy Roasted Peppers) and Dolmades (Stuffed Grape Leaves with Rice and Fresh Herbs); and handhelds like The Greet Gyro, the Greek Salad Wrap, and the Athenian Burger (Half Pound Grilled Certified Angus Beef with Chopped Lettuce, Tomatoes, Red Onions, Tzatziki and Feta).

Too good to be true. Diner classics includes Rice Pudding on the menu. That probably won’t happen.
The Bend is already 4 years behind while Uncommons, across the street was planned, built and is now up and running.
