In the lead-up to the opening, a new food and drink concept opening at the resort has been revealed: Fine Entertainment Management‘s The George Sportsmen’s Lounge.

The George is an update on the concept of a sportsbook/sports bar for the age of smartphone-based sports betting. Open 24 hours, the George will feature bar seating, bar top gaming, more than 60 TV screens for sports viewing (plus one 56-foot LED screen), a patio with games like shuffleboard and cornhole, and a stage for entertainment, says recent coverage by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

“I have this idea of what a sportsbook should look like now that gaming is on devices,” Fine Entertainment Management founder and CEO Jonathan Fine told What Now on Tuesday. “The 21 to 35-year-old customer is not sitting and watching horse races and smoking cigarettes. They’re looking for entertainment, for more, and we’re going to provide that.”

The George’s food offerings will demonstrate an elevated approach to the sports bar menu, along with a selection of classic breakfast favorites—all within a space that Fine says you have to see to believe.

“I don’t want to say anything about it because I want people to have the full experience when they come in and see it,” Fine said. “I want people to come in and be wowed by something they’ve never seen in a sports bar before.”

Opening in the Durango resort, the George will join the upcoming Eat Your Heart Out Food Hall, Mijo Modern Mexican Restaurant, Bel-Aire Lounge, and Summer House. Excitement for the opening is gaining momentum.

“The attention to detail [Station Casinos] has, and what I’ve learned from this experience—it’s going to help elevate everything we do,” Fine said.

November is just around the corner, but in the meantime, be sure to follow @thegeorgelv on Instagram.
